The aim of this program is to promote entrepreneurship development among micro and small  women entrepreneurs. In Uganda, women own 46% of Micro and Small Enterprise (MSEs)  dominating areas like beverages, textiles and services, with majority of them located at home  with a lot of domestic interference and limited access to the wider market. Considering the  physical structure from which businesses are operated, 72% of women MSEs are operating from  semi-permanent temporary or no structure at all which makes their business insecure and quite  costly in terms of transport since whenever they are retiring they have to move with their capital.

The focus of the program is on building capacity of grass root women in entrepreneurship  development and business management skills to effectively manage their enterprises. Through  the program women are trained in best practices in agriculture, linked to business service  providers for technical guidance.

The program has two sub components i.e. Women and Information  Communication  Technologies (ICTs) and the Empowerment Resource Centre. The women and  ICT component  aims at promoting the use of ICTs by women entrepreneurs and women organisations involved  in enterprise development. Through a Women's Information Resource Electronic Service (WIRES),  women entrepreneurs and women organisations access information on market prices, advisory  services, trade support information/services

Empowerment Resource Centre (ERC) whose  aim is to equip women and the general public with  necessary skills for effective career  development and business management.
