  HIV/AIDS at work place policy
Because of the devastating impact of HIV/AIDS on organizations and employees CEEWA-Uganda   realized that there was need to put in place measures to mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS in the   organization and the employees, this has been developed in form of a HIV/AIDS work place   policy.

CEEWA–Uganda understands that HIV/AIDS affects businesses/work directly and indirectly by   reducing the work force and skills hence increased absenteeism from work, reducing   organizations’ efficiency and increases the medical expenses. Employees affected by HIV/AIDS   need a lot of support both financially and physical to enable them cope with the situation and   fight stigma.

  Areas of intervention
With support from Germany Technical Cooperation (GTZ), CEEWA - Uganda embarked on the   following interventions to address HIV/AIDS at work place.
Developing HIV/AIDS at work place policy
Preventing and reducing further spread of HIV/AIDS at workplace through information   dissemination and carrying out activities that prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Advocating and practicing gender equity in HIV/AIDS activities.
Provide and advocate for healthy working environment for the organization staff and   beneficiaries.
Reducing loss of skilled staff and maintain the organizations efficiency.
Promoting continuous sensitization and communication of information on HIV/AIDS.
Reducing the stigma and encouraging support of HIV/AIDS affected family members so as to   reduce discrimination.
